FAQ

  • It’s very easy to get confused or discover too late that the information you were using to plan your trip is seriously outdated or just totally wrong. Travel professionals know better! Doing some homework online is a great start but working with a consultant to plan the details and book your vacation is the best of both worlds. This will save you hours sorting through websites and make sure you have the experience you are looking for - and avoid arriving in Paris, Texas instead of Paris, France!

All trips are not created equal and there are times when it makes sense to do-it-yourself. Like that family wedding you have been invited to, where you only need a hotel room close to the event (no other travel arrangements, activities or dining recommendations). That’s a perfect time to rely on the Internet.

  • Aside from a professional fee, no. The fee for your vacation package is the same whether you book with a travel agent or on your own. The supplier pays a commission to the agent that is already built into the final price. By booking with a travel professional, you are supporting a small business!

When you consider the time saved on planning, the extra level of service and security of knowing you have someone to call on should the unexpected occur, savvy vacationers find this to be money well spent. Thanks to industry connections, travel agents also have access to exclusive perks and upgrades to make your travel dollars go further!

  • YES! In most cases, you won’t experience the nightmare of being seriously ill or injured in a foreign country. But if you do, the last thing you want is not having the support or financial means by which to get treated and flown home. For that alone, you may find travel insurance is worth every cent.

It can however be confusing to figure out what you need, or already have. As a licensed Manulife Travel Insurance agent, I will explain your options, including any restrictions, limitations and exclusions.
